Wilfred Williams Joins TCU Staff

4.28.2023

We are excited to announce that Wilfred Williams will be joining the club as the Director of Player Development | U9 - U12 as well as our Junior Academy Director for players U4 - U9. Williams brings a high level of soccer pedigree that will benefit all players, coaches, & families within our growing club through high level instruction, communication, & curriculum development/implementation in collaboration with the Director of Coaching & Operations.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Wilfred to our staff,” said Director of Coaching & Operations Nick Boegemann. “We both believe in the importance of a strong technical foundation at the younger age groups and this addition to our staff will allow even more focus on these concepts during a crucial period in player development. In addition, he will coach multiple teams within our competitive program on an annual basis.”

“I’m excited for the opportunity to be a part of the club,” said Williams. I believe now is the right time to get involved in club soccer. Accepting this position was easy because Nick and I share the same philosophy as it comes to player development. He along with the coaching staff value the importance of strong technical training and sports performance foundation at a young age. That is my strength as a coach. I’m excited to be able to help Nick bring his vision for the club to reality.”

Wilfred began his soccer journey playing at area clubs here in the Tri-Cities before making the move to the academy of FC Dallas. He went on to play Division-1 soccer at University of Memphis and Oakland University before being drafted by Sporting Kansas City in the 2018 MLS draft. He has professional playing experience at clubs including Orlando City B, Detroit City FC, Oakland Roots, and Chattanooga FC.

Established in 1980, TCU has proven to be the top club in the region, drawing talent from communities throughout the Tri Cities/SWVA and beyond.
